ONU's Financial Aid
ONU is committed to providing an affordable education with nearly 90
percent of Northern students receiving some form of financial air. Each
student’s education at Ohio Northern is partially subsidized by
the university’s endowment, by the annual giving alumni, by the
United Methodist Church and by other interested persons and organizations.
Ohio Northern offers scholarships to encourage superior students
to select this university. Students with limited financial resources
are also assisted by the university with grants-in-aid and with loans
and work opportunities. The university participates in the Federal
Perkins Loan Program, the Federal College Work-Study program, which
provides part-time jobs on campus for students, and the Federal Supplemental
Education Opportunity Grant Program. Each student desiring a scholarship,
a grant-in-aid, a loan, a student employment opportunity, or a combination
of the four areas is urged to apply early and their parents should
also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Our department offers Merit Awards that range from $1,000 to $14,000.
These scholarships defray the cost of tuition and are renewable;
however, students must maintain satisfactory progress academically
and artistically.
To be eligible for a merit award, students must be accepted to the
university, declared either a theatre major or a dance minor and
then audition or have a portfolio review on which the evaluations
are based.
