Description
Brenda graduated from Wright State University
and danced with the WSU Dance Ensemble all four years of college.
She performed with Dance Theatre Dayton and Dance Image where
she also choreographed and was chairman of the board of directors.
Ms. Hoyt was involved in the Arts in Education program and was
an artist-in-residence in the Toledo Area Schools. She has developed
the dance curriculum for and teaches grades 7-12 in the Liberty-Benton
School District. At ONU, she not only teaches in the Communication
Arts Department but also in the Department of Health, Physical
Education and Sports Studies; and Department of Music. She is
the choreographer for the Added Attraction show choir and is on
the faculty for the ONU Summer Music Camp.. She has been a member
of the ONU Dance Company since its inception and has performed
in Jazz, Blues and Dance I, II and II as well as Decade of Dance,
a show commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Dance Department
at ONU. Ms. Hoyt also teaches at the University of Findlay and
choreographs for their show choir. She was the Artistic Director
and owner of The Dance Center in Ottawa, Oh. for 18 years. She
also is a free-lance choreographer and adjudicator for show choir
competitions and Junior Miss competitions throughout Ohio.
