Description
Llyod recently joined the Communication Arts
Department as Artist in Residence and Music Director for Musical
Theatre Program as well as conductor for the Department of Music’s
Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his appointment at ONU he was the
founding Artistic Director/Conductor of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra.
Lloyd has conducted for many acclaimed artists such as Broadway
star Karen Mason, Chicago pianist John Goodwin and the famed Chicago
Children’s Choir. He has been featured on ABC’s Chicago
affiliate Morning Show, PBS’s Chicago Tonight and was televised
on WGN singing the National Anthem for the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley
Field for a crowd of 44,000. He has served as Music Director for
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Mt. Prospect ,
Illinois and The Sound of Music at Mt. Vernon, Ohio. While getting
his undergraduate degree at ONU Lloyd had leading roles in HMS
Pinafore, The Threepenny Opera, The Secret Garden, Die Fledermaus
and Phantom. Mr. Butler is a member of The American Federation
of Musicians, Chicago Federation of Musicians, The American Symphony
Orchestra League, The Conductor’s Guild and the American
Choral Director’s Association. He recently became the Music
Director for the Lima Youth Orchestra.
